what has been the longest waiting time this year for certs?i ordered from GRO 12/03/06 and was given 3rd April as due date, its still not here i can't wait any longer, the post-girl is beginning to give me strange looks, because i always seem to be hovering by the letterbox just as she posts the mail(i have noticed a lack of bills lately, i think she's missing me out) Maybe she's opened my cert and thinks the marraige cert is mine and i am really a old hag from the 1850s waiting to grab her fingers, so please if you read the National news about anti-social behaviour on our much loved posties, understand why i did what i did, i always notice a big white envelope sticking out of her bag, just wait, i might just grab it tomorrow,...MOE

Oh Georgette/joan how do you cope? at least with you joan your postie doesn't have to see your face through the letterbox, and georgette i would be wearing a wig from tearing my hair out if i wait that long(ive just bitten 3 nails(fingers not toes) thinking of the stress......Moe

Dea

Dea Report 6 Apr 2006 21:40

I don't know how much longer but I sent off for one nearly a month ago and I am still waiting!! - The REALLY annoying thing is that a contact I have, looking for the same person, actually lives near the local register office and he just 'popped in' there about 10 days ago and picked up the cert. He e-mailed me a copy same day and it's NOT the right one - SO, I am sitting here, still waiting for a cert I don't want any more. That's REALLY sad! Dea x

Hair? What hair? I even tripped over and grazed my knees yesterday in my hurry to get to my letter box, because I thought I could see a big white envelope, turned out to be a fascinating bit of advertising from the bank! Humpf!! Lol! Helen aka Baldylocks and the three hairs Ooh Dea that's really sad :o(

Rebecca

Rebecca Report 6 Apr 2006 21:44

I rang up today and before it rang through there was a message saying that due to unprecidented levels of demand, certificates were taking up to 3/4 weeks longer than normal so hang on in there for a little longer Rebecca :)

Dea, the sad thing about mine is, i am also expecting a few bob in a cheque kids can't wait, i am not interested(i was at first so i could buy lots of certs)but i look for the BIG WHITE ENVELOPE not the little white one. my kids think i am crackers,i keep telling them i am doing this for your future so you know where you came from,My 15yr old tells me 'oh so you are a member of deadpeoplereunited*com and its for my benefit'..maybe if i look forward to the cheque the cert might turn up....Moe

thanx for making me feel a bit better, i won't blame little postie girl yet(i'm only picking on her coz she's tiny, )I think i will smile at her in the morning, (not through the letterbox though)i might go outside and start brushing the front when she's due, mind you she might think its my broomstick.I might do a bit of gardening(she might think i'm collecting potions)Oh i will just hide behind the letterbox as normal thats where she expects me anyhow......Moe

It's frustrating how long it is taking for the certs to come I wonder how they can manage to do them so quick when you are willing to stump up for priority orders! got one today by priority and the info I REALLY wanted wasn't on it, marriage cert and no father for bride! (and it came folded in a small envelope so I didn't open it straight away as didn't realise it was a cert

Ann Report 7 Apr 2006 00:42

I wonder if they are aware of the agony they are causing so many hu dreds of people. They say the reason for this is as a result of Who do you think you are? But has anyone thought of the thousands of pounds extra they are churning in, why dont they get extra staff in? They take our money out of our bank account about 15 days before they send the cert. so that means the cert. was probably ready then. So it must be the despatch dept. that is keeping us waiting. Ann

Ordered 3 cert on the 19th March with a despatch date of the 4th April......after looking at all the threads on the boards recently I was expecting to have to add at least a week onto this, but, they arrived on the 5th......YIPPEEEEE and they were everything I wanted them to be. Pen -x-

Ken Report 7 Apr 2006 15:06

I ordered a birth and a marriage certificate on 23rd March, both arrived 1st April, having been told 2 weeks. Another birth certificate ordered at the same time, but with less detail to assist their search, I was told 3 weeks. It would appear that the more info. that you can give them, the quicker they'll arrive. Ken.
