Well, there's something afoot!! If you go back 10 years to the 1881, here are the same ''parents'' Matthew and Margaret, but now they have a GRANDSON called M J Garl (or something similar).......suspiciously, he is the same age as your M J Hammond and born the same place with the same initials!! Maybe this is a red herring......I was expecting his parents to die and then for him to be taken back into the fold of the Hammond family (Matthew senr and Margaret being his grandparents?)....but I can't his parents dying....... Merry

Merry Report 17 May 2006 14:13

George Kingsnorth married Sarah Ann Driver, she was born 1865ish in Dover and here they are in 1901: Charlie Kingsnorth abt 1895 Dover, Kent, England Son St Matthew Suffolk George Kingsnorth abt 1871 Middlesex, London, England Head St Matthew Suffolk George Kingsnorth abt 1893 Dover, Kent, England Son St Matthew Suffolk Katheleen Hettie Kingsnorth abt 1898 Ipswich, Suffolk, England Daughter St Matthew Suffolk Sarah Ann Kingsnorth abt 1868 Dover, Kent, England Wife St Matthew Suffolk So that means Matthew Hammond/Hurrell married Bessie Calcraft. She was born about 1870/71 in Dover.....now looking for her in 1901..................... Merry

maud J Hurrell born 1893 Eastry kent , which is the right same year as Maud Hammond who was 21 at the time of marriage to frank in 1914.... can anyone now find her death Maud J Gimber??????

Merry

Merry Report 17 May 2006 15:03

Finding her death won't be so easy, unless you have some idea..........If she died after 1910 and beofre 1983 then it would mean trawling.....(unless she died before 1920 which would show up on Family Relatives, but I don't have any units for that at the moment) What's the chances this is her sister?: Births Sep 1897 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hurrell Alice Bessie Eastry 2a 998 Named after granny and mum...... Can't find any of them in 1901 at the moment...... Merry

Merry

Merry Report 17 May 2006 15:14

Well, Alice Bessie won't be on the 1901 census as she died the following year..... These are all the entries on FreeBMD in Eastry district.......I should think there's a middling-chance these are all the same family. Where the **** are they in 1901?????? Births Dec 1893 Hurrell Maud Juliet Eastry 2a 914 Births Sep 1895 Hurrell Frank David Eastry 2a 983 Births Sep 1897 Hurrell Alice Bessie Eastry 2a 998 Deaths Mar 1898 Hurrell Alice Bessie 0 Eastry 2a 709 Births Mar 1899 Hurrell Ada Ethel Eastry 2a 1012 Births Jun 1901 Hurrell Edith Clara Eastry 2a 1033 Births Dec 1903 HURRELL Frederick William Eastry 2a 1064 Births Mar 1906 Hurrell Reginald Victor Eastry 2a 1119 Merry
