I was just looking at the same image and it says she is a widow. Poor Jane. Do you think that is Thomas in the workhouse? Wouldn't he be working on the farm at 11? What about the other children in the workhouse are they Jane's? Oh dear so much to think about. And where was Thomas Snr in 1861?

If that is her in 1861 then she would have only been 9 when she got married or 13 having Mary Ann! I have been looking at the rest of the pages for the workhouse and can see 4 more Cross entries: Sarah Cross unmarried Age 55 b Devon Lillie Cross Age 8 Ellen Cross Age 6 Walter Cross Age 4 All born Wiveliscombe.

I can’t find his birth either. Lot’s of Thomas’ but none born around that date in Wiveloscombe. Can anyone else please spot the family in 1861 or any other possible Thomas in 1881? I could be going crazy as I am helping son do HISTORY revision!! I hope he does better tomorrow than I am tonight
