NBI is national burial index. it is not a website, it is a set of four discs which you have to buy. there are over 13 milion burial records on it for England and a little bit of Wales. Some counties are well covered, othes are not. Even for one particular church, not all the burials have been transcibed, you just have to be lucky, as you were with Richard. I have just realised that an 1851 death is before the last lot of children, but at age 33, it is correct for someone born in 1818 Those last two children could have been illegit. Are there christenings on the IGI? Linda

hi linda that could be him, but there were 2 more children born one in 1855 and one in1857hazel

But he may have died before the child was born? Or she may have met someone after he died? Ive got a similar one on the go at the moment where last child born 1840 and finally found 'dad' dying 1838 (and they didnt have freezers then!). Best of luck, hubby screaming for his dinner. Not wishing to cast aspersions on Mrs Roberts, but could the last kid(s) be someone elses? What I mean is could he have died before the last child was conceived? Do you have the last kiddies birth cert? Only the other day we had one where the father had died before the child was born. Did you have a quick look through 55/56 for a death.
