The Birth certificate will have the parents names on it, so I would hold it out for a bit and see what it says. Then you will have a little more to go on rather than just the childs name. Nicola

Paul, I keep coming back to this one - Ancestry treats this as related to Wigan (despite no reference to Wigan on the image), and the initial of the second name is E. However, the census enumerator clearly is not using a J (compare other names on the page). How did he collect the names in 1901? Did he ask the names verbally, make notes, and then copy it out? Did the householder (as now) complete the forms? Either way there could have been a mis-transcription - or possibly a mis-hearing. Wait and see if it checks out to the certificates, but it does look odds on. All the best

Hi I've tried all evening and cant find her ! Jemina Eveline Almond b.1893 Wigan I have her birth record from BMD, her marriage record to James Edward Cooper in 1912 but I cant find her on the 1901 Census. I've tried all the usual's Wildcards, different spellings etc - but to no avail. Can anyone else see her ? TIA ... Paul
