Member Since: July 2003 Posts: 53 Send Message	A free 3months trial of Ancestry came with a Family Tree Maker given me recently. But to obtain the trial I have to register the software and give access to my 'card', And if I do not wish to subscribe to Ancestry after the 3 months I must inform them prior to the end of that period, otherwise the charges for another year will automatically be deducted. This leaves me a little uneasy; should I be concerned?

	Kenneth I had a 2 week free trial with Ancestry and cancelled it before they took a years subscription, there was no problem at all in cancelling as long as you dont leave it till the last day. Georgina.

	Hi Kenneth, I've got the same free trial with ancestry, and had to give card details. I've had no problems so far - no 'mystery debits' from my credit card, at least so far! I just keep in mind when the free trial is soon due to finish. I've found it so useful, I'll almost certainly 'pay up' when the free trial runs out. There's a thread on the records board about how to get cheaper subscription - I think it's called something like 'Want to join ancestry?' Bx
