Hi Kenneth, I've got the same free trial with ancestry, and had to give card details. I've had no problems so far - no 'mystery debits' from my credit card, at least so far! I just keep in mind when the free trial is soon due to finish. I've found it so useful, I'll almost certainly 'pay up' when the free trial runs out. There's a thread on the records board about how to get cheaper subscription - I think it's called something like 'Want to join ancestry?' Bx |

Kenneth I had a 2 week free trial with Ancestry and cancelled it before they took a years subscription, there was no problem at all in cancelling as long as you dont leave it till the last day. Georgina. |

A free 3months trial of Ancestry came with a Family Tree Maker given me recently. But to obtain the trial I have to register the software and give access to my 'card', And if I do not wish to subscribe to Ancestry after the 3 months I must inform them prior to the end of that period, otherwise the charges for another year will automatically be deducted. This leaves me a little uneasy; should I be concerned? |
