Having looked at the 1841 image closely I've found that 'George' was actually a daughter, written as Georg with a superscript 'a' at the end. So she should be Georgina or Georgiana. Possibly the enumerator may have misread a badly written Sarah as this. Have you found these on the IGI? THOMAS FREDERICK ROBINSON Male Birth: 04 MAR 1835 Christening: 26 APR 1835 Saint Andrew, Holborn, London, England AMELIA MARY ANN ROBINSON Female Birth: 11 JUN 1832 Christening: 26 APR 1835 Saint Andrew, Holborn, London, England -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Parents: Father: THOMAS ROBINSON Family Mother: MARIA -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Source Information: Batch No.: Dates: Source Call No.: Type: Printout Call No.: Type: P010518 1828 - 1836 0374359 Film 6901256 Film P010518 1828 - 1836 0374359 Film NONE Sadly there are no records for after 1836 but if Frederick was Thomas Frederick maybe Sarah was Georgina Sarah. |

right let me see if i have got this straight and please correct me if i am wrong..... The1841 Census for St Andrews Holborn is my family Thema is Thomas, George is Sarah And Fredrick is in fact Thomas Fredrick. Emma was Born in 1840 and dies in 1843. I am right in thinking that Maria jnr is in fact Amelia Mary Anne? But then i had All the children being christened together in suffolk (someone gave this info). Then who is the Family that Sue found in Ipswich in 1841? I know that i definately have the right family in 1851 I have traced them forward and have a direct line from William Henry Walter Through to my own father. |

Nancy, I agree with your summary, with the possible addition of two separate children, Maria born about 1830, and Amelia Mary Ann born about 1832. Sue's info may show Amelia (born London?) resident with her grandparents in 1841. I think I have seen it said before that when a vicar found an unbaptised child, they would often baptise all the children together, including those that had previously been baptised. Also, I'm not sure when the practice ceased, but baptism may be one way of obtaining a settlement certificate. One genealogist has obtained around 17 separate baptisms in different parishes for one child! |

I agree with Ivy, Maria and Amelia are two seperate people. The fact that both Thomas' in 1841 are cordwianers or shoemakers and that in 1851 Thomas senior is a seargeant at mace like Thomas junior in 1861 has got to mean a connection. I think it all fits. |

Think i am slowly getting hang of this, so The Thomas in suffolk in 1841 is the father of the Thomas living is holborn? So excuse me if i am being dim but where do the Emma and Amelia fit in with my family? |
