Patricia E Knowles born Jan/Feb/Mar 1931 Elham (2a 1841) Mother's maiden name Smith. Somebody called Kevin has a Patricia Knowles born 1929 Folkestone. Might be worth e-mailing. Don't mind me asking, but Gilbert seems to have taken a 20-year break in fathering children. This is very unusual, so I wonder if he was otherwise occupied during that time... perhaps as a guest of His Majesty?

It's Robertsons, not Robinsons! They're now part of Premier Foods - wonder if they kept staff records! Are you sure it's definitely them - do you have proof? If so, we will be able to find them on previous censuses. Don't want to waste time unless we're sure. I see they arrived in Glasgow some time between the birth of Kate and Jane. Here they are in 1891: 1891 Scotland Census Name: Charles Wilson Age: 32 Estimated birth year: abt 1859 Relationship: Head Spouse's name : Catherine Where born: Perth, Perthshire Registration Number: 414 Registration district: Carnock Civil parish: Carnock County: Fife Address: Free Church Manse Occupation: Blacksmith ED: 1 Page: 3 Household schedule number: 20 Line: 1 Roll: CSSCT1891_125 Household Members: Charles Wilson 32 Catherine Wilson 34 Catherine Wilson 5 born Partick, Lanarkshire Jane Wilson 3 born Carnock James Wilson 1 (Must have died before 1901)
