Thanks LadyKira. I'll going to do a little digging now so may ask you and Mel for some further help if that's ok. I have just rekindled my interest in tracing my family tree so let's see what I find. Never know I may get seriously addicted too :) Unfortunately both my parents have passed away and of course I should have asked more questions about our family history. I have found lots of ancestors but sadly I know nothing about them.
Talk soon. :-)

Just a quick question. Is there anyway I can print off these messages?

LadyKira

LadyKira Report 7 Oct 2013 08:56

Just right click and copy and paste onto you word processor. You can then edit out the bits you do not need and then print in the usual way.

I also paste census info in the notes section for each person on my tree.

The notes section can be found in the top right corner of the tree narked by <<. When you open the sliding panel scroll to the bottom.

Hi both,
Just been thinking about Jacob's mother, Patience Hamon Rogers. Could Hamon have been her mother's surname that they used as a middle name for her? What do you think.
Thanks :-)

A tree on Ancestry cites this babtism. It is possible that her marriage to Thomas was a second marriage.

Is that her LadyKira?
How to Patience Taylor become Patience Hayman. Sorry but I'm not following.
Thanks :-(

Hi Patricia, I think it was the other way around - born Patience Hayman, married a Taylor and died as Patience Taylor.

Personally, I think that Patience Hamon Rogers marriage to Thomas James Taylor that Mel posted needs investigating further. There seems to be a whole family called Hamon Rogers.

Patricia

Patricia Report 11 Oct 2013 20:05

Thanks LadyKira. I'm not sure how to research there marriage as I believe it would have taken place before the records began. Any ideas please.

LadyKira

LadyKira Report 11 Oct 2013 21:56

The marriage I pointed out was what someone else has recorded on their tree.
I have not seen evidence either way as to the accuracy.
The Patricia Hamon Rogers banns was the only one I found of that name.
Could you post any you found MC please?

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any info with regards to Patience Harmon Rogers on this site. I'm interested in her name as it is unusual and wondering if it is a double barrelled name which I think would have been unusual for this time. With regards to where she was buried it's rather strange as when a child I lived just a stones throw away from Victoria Park. I'm sure the cemetery isn't there now.
Maria thanks for your post. Are you saying that the marriage of Thomas and Patience may not be pertaining to my ancestors or just that it's an unusual name to research. Thanks. Any more info would be gratefully received as I have hit a brick wall.

If the above is his baptism this could be his parents and siblings. The parish is the same.
