National Library of Scotland have the old O.S. maps which are excellent for this sort of thing. I guess there's an equivalent in England / Wales...The British Library maybe? Google maps are searchable by streets which still exist - often not the case.

That's fine - I just wondered if the 6 could be a 'B' and and therefore the 'o' is showing as small letter making it a 3 as the house number. Just a thought

Gins, thanks.

Mary Ramage was with her grandfather, Thomas and his second wife, Mary Ramage in Northumberland.

William was with his parents, Thomas and Hester and his brother Richard in Middlesex.

Orchard St and New Peter St (Grroms address) are next on from each other near Oxford St, so Id say thats the correct address

Stevendeg Report 13 Sep 2012 10:14

Which area in London is the street - does it say on the cert?

(Assuming it is London!?)

Stevendeg Report 13 Sep 2012 10:08

Gins, no worries. Many thanks for your help. It is possible that it could be Couchard St. I will try to google it.

Thanks for 1851 census. I already have it before. :-)

Cheers, Steven.
