Hi Everyone,
Well I am back in the ranks of the unemployed, waiting for replies to a couple of job applications.

Decided I will tackle one household job that I rarely get around do do, each day to keep me motivated.

Washed my Shower Curtain yesterday, today it is going be defrost my Freezer,
What an exciting life I lead :P

Though OH and I had a great night on Sunday when we went and saw a Musical Show that has been touring Australia and New Zealand.

7 very talented singers sang songs from most of Andrew's shows including Evita. Phantom of the Opera and Jesus Christ Superstar.

The lead Singer was Michael Cormick who's rendition of the Phantom was spine tingling.
Michael has previously had the lead role in international productions of The Phantom as well as appearing in Royal command performances of Phantom and Les Miserables.

What made the show even better was that we got to sit in the front row and I was given the tickets by a local radio station in a competion even though I had the wrong answer!

They were giving away 4 tickets to the show each morning for a week if you could answer the question based on a statistic. on the final morning they were offering the tickets as a prize,
They asked this question 'On average we do this at least twice a month, though prior to 1970 nobody did this.'
I rang with my answer which was to go to McDonald's. they took my number and said they would ring me in about 10mins after the News and weather,
the phone duly rang and I had a brief conversation with the DJ then put on hold, when she got back to me, she was most apologetic because someone had rung in with the exact answer, while she had been talking to me earlier.

She felt awful that she had led me to believe that I had the answer, so said she had 2 tickets for the Shows final night she wanted to give me.
So Thats how I lost but won tickets anyway.

By the way the correct answer was to the drive through the 'drive through' at McDonald's.

Well must go and tackle my Freezer.

Daughter told me on Sunday that MJ decided last week that it was time to crawl AND to "cruise" ........ described as walking using something such as the coffee tbale as support!

Having decided, he seems to be getting ahead by leaps and bounds!

Hi Everyone

Just a short one as I am off shopping for the day .

We had a good downpour of rain yesterday and more to come tomorrow.

All this talk on computers but it does give me more knowledge of them I must say
.I may try to bundle mine as well with the land line phone as my Internet and phone comes through the same line but I have two dif providers for both.

Pop back in later this afternoon.

Sorry you are jobless at the mo, but you will feel better after doing all those tasks ....just think, you won't have to worry about them when you do get back to work :D

Don't know where everyone else has got to though. Maybe they are all busy or just on everyday tasks.

My excitement today has been cleaning windows......... :D I clean the windows in the garage occasionally - outside. Today I ventured in and had a go......arrrrghhh. My OH bewailed the fact that I had shifted a spider and a dead butterfly.........honestly! Men!


Have just been watching the Queen leave Ireland after her historic tour. It seems to have been a great success and I am so relieved that it has gone off without any trouble. I bet the security services are glad it's all over! For someone who is 85 she is absolutely incredible and I loved the outfits she wore.


Robert is being very quiet lately, hope he's okay.


I have been taking another look at Evelyn's thread and wonder where it is leading. So many stones have been turned but nothing much has come out from under them. FBG has really given it her all and so many others have tried to help too. One day maybe..........one day.......sigh.


Think I may just mooch around for a while now.

we're having some lovely weather here


and Monday is a Statutory Holiday (ie, same as Bank Holiday)

The Monday closest to May 24th is Victoria Day

May 24th was Queen Victoria's birth day

:))))


It's actually treated as the "start" of summer

......... plant your garden, if you have not already done so ............ and IF it is clear of snow!

........ put out and clean garden furniture

...... open up the cabin or summer cottage


etc etc



we'll just stay home quietly!



and hope that this weather lasts until then

Hello Robert and glad to hear you are okay - we certainly want a decent photo of you......what about as a child?


Sylvia....that thought has cropped up before and is likely to be one of the likeliest possibilities. There are several Donaldina's, Dolina's and Davidina's around so maybe it was one of those and she shortened it to Diane. Several possibilities have been checked but it's expensive to keep checking on the 1911. She must have been somewhere though!!

Frank - help - new BT router works fine - HP wireless print won't speak tot he new BT router aaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh OH getting grumpier

Managed to get OH business computer set up tot he new router - haven't tried Laptop yet (too chicken to try it yet)

Have tried 4 times on Friday to connect printer wirelessly - last time it worked first go - this time Nada I don't know how to run the wireless network set up - twice today

Going round and round in circles

Off to have another ring o roses session
