Old, the photo was taken in 1984 when they were about a year old. Sadly the tabby only lived another year but the black one lived to 16. We haven't had any since she died.

Cynthia, the electoral rolls on A were done by OCR. Mostly they are good but often the system gets out of phase and road names and elector's names get confused.

Thanks Sylvia,

My wife is well, having been told by the Hospital that they don't want to see her again in the next 12 months.

Hi everyone

Still having trouble getting on here but i will try Sylvia's suggestion.

Cynthia

I have been looking at Evelyn's thread today and have search a site with BDM's for India but nothing came up with the names we have to work with.

Searching the Internet for sites that have persons that received medals that have been to India.

My Mother was born in Burma in a British Garrison that had its own Hospital in 1932,her birth cert was easy to find ,she is on Free BMD, I know this is not India but the same scenario.

If Robert was in the Army as he says Diane'S Birth should be easy to find ,I also have Birth certs for My OH side of the family also born in India during British settlement that was in 1840 Camp Kurrachie India.

with the info we have I can't see us finding her birth,i will look in every now and then,I have the OH looking at all his war books to see if he can come up with anything .

Robert so very pleased to hear that your wife is on the mend .

Ken nice of you to join us .

I have come to the conclusion that this site is slowly dying ,there does not seem to be the requests for help that there was back in 2006 when I joined ,I do enjoy helping but i am nowhere as good as some of the other researchers so by the time I find the info someone else has already posted the info.

I must admit that I am doing more of my own research so I guess that is what I joined for in the first place.

Anyway back to it ,dishes waiting to be washed.

Hi Susan, I just thought I'd look at this thread to see if it was less depressing than the others that I've been following lately. It seems that it is.

Cynthia, if you have a scanner/printer it probably has an OCR option. I have tried it on mine with limited success. It is usually easier to retype than correct the OCR errors.

HI everyone

OOOOOH! got in on the first try this time, things are looking up.

Ken we are a great bunch ..we do not take life so serious and we are there for one another if need be .

Our winter is upon us ..rain tonight thank the lord ,everything is so dry here.

The town is busy at the moment with the school holidays here in Oz at this time ,one more week to go and they all go home and we get our little country town back ,that is the trouble with living in a holiday town but I hate the city so i have to put up with it ;-)

Been searching Military records today for Evelyn's Father, there are so many sites for the Military I don't know the best one,can anyone steer me to the best and i will subscribe to it .

Got my dinner dishes to get rid of then I am into it :-D

Be back later :-D

Hello Sally,
I've been to Gosberton church, back in 2004. One of my hobbies is church bell ringing. We visited half a dozen towers in the Spalding area that day.

Hello Ramon and welcome.

It may be better for you to post your query on the Genealogy Chat board to be honest. There are quite a few members who are good with that sort of query. Hope this helps..... :-D

So Ken, you're a campanologist are you? Interesting. We have bells at our church and quite a good team of youngsters who practice weekly. I absolutely love to hear church bells ringing.

Yes, Evelyn's thread is busy again and I am trying to consolidate it so that people are going over things unnecessarily. Not sure I'm succeeding though.. :-
I spent hours on it yesterday and was quite x-eyed by the time I'd finished........ :-S

Have been out with daughter today to look at a wedding fayre at a local church - was hoping to get ideas because I'm organising one at our church later in the year. Glad I went......I can now up my game - so to speak! :-D

Finished off by going to our favourite coffee shop and eating far too much........ :-(

When I went out, OH was watching Aliens for the umpteenth time. What a totally yukky film that is......can't see the fascination myself......... :-S

Anyway, off to do some searching for any of Evelyn's Goddard-Fenwick descendents.

Take care and love to all........Cx <3

Hi Sue, and everyone xxx

and a special Hi to Ramon

We had quite the weather change today .............. had to have lights on in rooms, turned the heating back on, windy, and had to wear rain gear

and .............................. every where is covered with pink snow :-D

The wind is blowing away all the pink petals from the cherry trees! :-D

The flowers are not lasting as long as they usually do ................ but the streets, grassy boulevards, sidewalks and gardens sure do look pretty all covered in the pink "snow :-D

Not too sure that car owners who leave their cars parked on the street are too happy with the petals sticking on the vehicles though

Our friend, daughter's GodF, was taken into Emergency yesterday ........ he's in a "temporary" bed while they find a palliative care bed for him.

take care everyone

Hi Sue, and everyone

Sallie ........ I hope that all goes well at that appointemnt for your husband. It must be very worrying for you. xxxx

Our very close friend, daughter's godfather, died last night, quietly and very peacefully.

He spent one night in Emergency, 4 nights in a 4 bed ward with 3 other old men, and 2 days in palliative care ........ the last being excellent, according to his wife. But he then went down very quickly.

Hi all........long gaps on here again - everyone being busy no doubt.

Sorry about your friend Sylvs.....(((hugs))).

I've been busy with Evelyn's thread - it's up and running...or should I say galloping at the moment and I'm trying to keep up with it. Am still doing lots of work behind the scenes which is all very time consuming. Would love to see a good end result for all the hard work which has been put into it by so many lovely folk.

OH had some physio last week. They come to the house and are really nice ladies. Fortunately, he is quite stable at the moment but every little helps and he learned some new techniques to help keep his muscles flexible.

It's quite grey here today - hope we get some better weather soon......it's getting time to wash some curtains and do some spring cleaning.... :-D

Take care all.....Cx <3

Reece Report 6 May 2013 20:10

Hello friends,

Just a few words this time - hope all goes well for your husband, Sally and sorry to hear of your friend Sylvia.

I have much sadness now because of our older son's very serious illness and the resulting chemotherapy treatment. He was diagnosed the day after I had agreed a completion date (29 May) and move. He insists that I should not change it but you can all imagine that that is exactly what I would like to do.

Meanwhile I carry on with packing and sorting, trying to match his wonderful optimism for the future.

Cynthia, what sterling work you are all doing looking for Evelyn's elusive Mother. Good luck with it.

Going now.

Love to you all
