Sometimes marriage certs. state the father is dead and sometimes they don't. |

There is so much room for error on the census. The census schedule was either filled in by the household or the enumerator and then copied into the books we can view. You can see how mistakes could creep in. |

How many children does it say they had in 1911 and who long have they been married? |

Again, that would make sense, but that is one hell of a mistake on the census, whether the family error or the enumerator? As I couldn't find him in 1901 but can in 1911. I thought Emmie may have been a pet version of Emma. So there you are, I've learnt something else! As my great grandad wrote on the 1911 census that there were nine children born to his parents. But neither of them appear on that census. I think I have a death for Sarah but not Henry snr. |
