Wow thanks everyone,

The Foley family is a large one at that. John and Ellen hail from Ireland and were married in Whitechapel in 1855. Their first child was Michael born in 1856, followed by Mary in 1859 the Johanna in about 1866, Patrick from whom I decend 1869, twins James and Jeremiah 1872, another set of twins John and Silvester 1876 and lastly Ellen in 1879.

The first time I came across Edward was on the 1891 census with his grandfather, Aunt Annie and Uncle's Silvester and John.

I'm guessing that Annie is in fact Johanna as I've not found a sutiable matching Annie in BMD.

Then on the 1901 census he is still with his grandfather. Aged about 20. I will definately consider those that have been suggested like Edwin, though the mother's name still doesn't appear to match.

So he was definately born circa 1880, though proably not where he states on the census.

He might just have to stay on the fringes for now and I'll come back to him.

Thanks again everyone for your hard work and sore eyes on this one. I think it's time for a cuppa, my family is starting to give me a headache.
