It really annoys me that you pay money for info then when you get it you can't even work it out. Would the register have it writen down else where does any one think

Only got two thoughts on this.

Was the mother the informant for the birth - if not does that hold any clues?

Is there anything written on the left to suggest there is Record of Corrected Entry?

the child was either adopted or put into care and the child was a twin which is put on the right hand side of the cert but nothing else apart from that

♥♥♥Debbie♥♥♥ Report 30 Aug 2008 13:08

sorry yes she was the informant for the birth

Did you get the cert from ScotlandsPeople?

If so you can go back to Viewed Images and get the image again. Save to your computer.

Hi Debbie,

You can phone Scotlands People or contact them via the website if you can't read the certificate. I have had to do that several times because I couldn't make make out what someone had written on a certificate. They were very helpfull!!

Sure is doest say,,,Ilig birth written to obscure it,,,,?

I dont know from that time but real early ones often have --in-fronication"mean the parent are named but not married,,,,,,,,,

Edit,,Could it be --Multi Birth,,,,,,,,,,meaning as a twin,,,,,,!!

With her being a single mum,,her occupation?

mgnv

mgnv Report 30 Aug 2008 16:49

Normally, with an illegitimate birth with no father named, under the mothers name it has her occupation, and/or (rarely) deceased.
