Anyone know if Bessie short for another name?

Peter,

I don't know what you are referring to. I make great Yorkshire puds, too, but I buy them frozen and they cook in no time at all. Your Auntie Bessie would be advised to do the same rather than make her own.

My GGG grandmother was called Elizabeth, Betty and Betsy at various times in her life!

I think that I read somewhere that Elizabeth has more derivatives than any other womans name.

My aunt was named Bessie. just as it is.

She also makes exceedingly good Yorkshire Puds.

We have a Bessie who was an Elizabeth and one who was a Beatrice! Hope this helps!

Bessie is usually short for Elizabeth, or it was in my gran's case.
