I have arrived back at the 1871 census with my Davison ( Davidson on 1871 census) line and am unable to get back further.
I am looking for the birth record for William born abt 1865 Scotswood and a marriage (if this happened of course) for his parents Joesph and Isabella (surname unknown). Here is the 1871 census.. any help with this would be most appreciated.

First point………birth may not have been registered, as there were no penalties for not doing so until 1875. Have you looked?

The GRO site is FREE and gives MMN on all records

Second point……..have you tried looking for marriage of the parents on freebmd?

I would think there’s an error on 1871. Hardly likely for the couple to have two daughters named Isabella and alive

Are the parents and older children on the 1861 census and have you found any baptisms for any of the other children?

I have got back to 1871 so 1861 census not as yet located.
No baptisms found for other children on 1871 census
I havent found a marriage for a Joseph Davidson or Davison and an Isabella
There appear to be a number of William's born around 1865 in Newcastle reg district so without MMN i dont know which is the correct one

This is the younger child, Isabella..........illegitimate, and probably Mary's child

But I didn’t spot one with those parents.

If Isabella is Mary’s child, could William also be one?

Can't as yet see any of them in 1851
