I wonder where the surname Bernie came from?

On Gordon's obituary it mentions a Thomas Birnie

On Find a Grave site it mentions he has a child called Lorraine Elva Parkin Birnie. 1937 -2021

Was Bettys maiden name Birnie which would make that marriage with Mary Elizabeth Gray is wrong.

That death looks promising. Its got to be John Henry Gordon, Ethel's Brother. I wonder why he decided to use Gordon as his name.
