I wonder if anyone could help me find anything on a Frances Cushion.

She is on the 1939 census as Frances Corke. She married Joseph Corke in 1933 in West Derby Liverpool Lancashire .

On the 1939 census it gives her date of birth as 26th December 1913

I have found her birth

From the gro birth record it would seem she was illegitimate

You need her birth cert for it’s info on her parentage

Having been born after the last census online it’s not possible to find her with any family before her marriage

Shirley i thought on the gro birth record it gave her mothers maiden name as MOORE

Ahh ok it didn’t look like that on the posting

Having looked at the gro it is more spaced apart

I read It that Moore was a second Christian name !

So have you looked on freebmd for any parents marriage using the surname combination

Not possible to say from any of the possible marriages coming up so you do need to get her birth certificate

Her married cert too should name her father but the birth certificate is the best source

Assuming her parents married in England or Wales, there is really only one possibility ( and ONLY a possibility) , although it's in Norwich.

There doesn't seem to be any Liverpool connection, but there's no telling where they were between 1912 and 1939.

I have just found out that Frances remarried in 1958. she married Michael Drokan
and she died in 1999 in liverpool

I had looked at that and I was very swayed to it but like you I looked at the other daughter.and realised you cant have one baby in Norwich and then another in Liverpool in such a short space of time

I didnt think it would be this difficult to find someone with the surname of Cushion.

Think I might have to bite the bullet and order some certificates at the end of the month when I next get paid.

Perhaps her mother had been married before, in which case her Cushion marriage would be in a different name.

I can't see any married (or claiming to be married) Cushion couple in Liverpool in 1911, who don't have any children, and where the wife's maiden name is Moore.
