Find Ancestors

I am researching Yandell and have got a little stuck.
I have James Yandell born 1849 in Bristol which I know is correct. His father was John Yandell born 1802 in Bristol and his mother was Ann Royall born 1806.
I cannot seem to find a marriage for them - John and Ann.

I have confirmed them having 5 children Anne-1837 Sarah -1842 Emma -1844 Richard-1847 and the James I have shown above in 1849. I have found 3 additional children showing in the 1841 census but can't find their births. (James age 14 John age 11 and Edward age 5).
James would have been born in 1827 from this information.

I was hoping to find their marriage so I could go to the records office to see if I could find out who John Yandell born 1802, parents were. Any help you can give would be great. Thanks

Can you say where you found Ann's maiden name, please.

I looked on General register office for birth certificates and the 5 listed above have Royall as Mothers Maiden name.

Hi ErikaH The taunton one isn't the correct one Im afraid. The 1851 is the correct John and Ann with their family.
The other John born 1829 died 1883 is their son John so the right family.

ErikaH - John and Edward baptisms look the ones as the other children were baptised in St Andrews clifton- brilliant I could not find those when I was searching, that just leaves the first son James born 1827 died 1837 I can't find.

Do you mean where you have put Only baptisms before 1837 that I may not find anything on line. I was thinking I could look at the records for St. Andrews Clifton( in case they married there) at the local records office but not sure if I will be able to find it.

Maddie- that is a thought- I will see what I can follow up. the spellings of Yandell change all the time so as you know make it harder. Thanks.

The first James must have died, although I can't see an entry on freebmd

The 1837 death ISN'TJames - he was alive in 1841 - and that death is for a 69 year old

Sorry, slightly inaccurate terminology. I meant that you can't find BIRTHS before 1837

BUT - even though you have been given the probable marriage, you won't learn anything more from the Records Office than has been posted.
