Do you have the marriage certificate of James and Margaret please? That may confirm James's father's name and occupation.

If you look on the GRO site for births of James Henry Eccleston born 1885 +/- 2 years there is only one that gave a mmn and I think he died ages 17 months. So, I'm think that either your James added Henry as a middle name or he was illegitimate. Have you found him listed as James Henry on either the 1901 or 1891 census please?
