It looks like Elizabeth and son George emigrated about 3 months before William.

I wonder is any more of William's siblings also moved down under??

Hello Sylvia, yes Elizabeth also had son George born 1841 (baptised 15 August 1841). I have him aged 9 on the 1851 census at Easington, Co Durham but can't find him after that. I was a bit confused by the death notice saying Mrs George Race. Looking at it properly I should have noticed the different address. Will try and find George.

Hello Sylvia, I have his other brother James on a different thread altogether back in August. I was looking for the death of his wife Hannah and you actually found a bigamous marriage for both of them. Quite an interesting family!!

Yes, that "mother of Mrs George Race" confused me as well. It was Mrs on the image, but I wonder if it was just the printer making a mistake??

There ARE 2 George Races ....... one baptised 15 Aug 1841, Easington, Durham, parents George and Elizabeth; and one baptised 15 May 1840, Monk Hesleton, Durham, parents George and Mary.

I think the George on these 1871, 1881 and 1891 censuses is the OTHER one ........ but I'll leave them up as a warning for other helpers!!

Disregard the passenger records for George and Elizabeth ................ they are the other George.

This is their son Foster on the same ship ...........
