Thanks Sylvia, it was a total fluke! But now I have to go out so I'll leave you to figure out why the census names her mother as Margaret and what happened to her father :-D

Can't find the Dowey children in the gro to confirm mother's name.

I've been trying to find the registrations for the two Dowey children on those censuses, to check mother's maiden name.

No apparent registration on Freebmd, GRO Index, or Yorkshire bmd ????????

Alvie, thank you so much, this is why I keep my subscription to Genes going. I would never have thought of Hannah Bella. So much more information for me, and thank you also Argyl and Sylvia.

Just to keep this more interesting, here is a John Ross, right area and time scale, who happens to be a shoemaker's apprentice. If you remember, Annabella's father was a shoemaker on her MC. There is a Thomas Lowe, shoemaker in the same household so possibly his master.
