Hi, I am looking for twin boys who I think were born in 1930 in Liverpool. I have photos of them at a wedding in 1938 at Wallasey, Merseyside the married couple were Alun Lloyd and Dorothy Andrews. Dorothys mum and dad were Stephen Andrews and Louisa Butler. I have looked a lot into this and I thought the twins might be Peter and Paul Butler, parents were George Butler and Ellen Lewis. I cannot find them on 1939 or anything else about them or their parents, so I am stuck as I cannot find them so I just want to see if anyone else knows them!

Hi , thanks for looking into my twins problem!
The trouble is I am not sure who these twins are but as I said I have a few photos of them and I think its to do with the Butler family but I cannot yet work out which male butler is the father as dorothys mum Louisa butler only had one brother that I know of called Peter born 1969.
Yes I think I looked at the 1939 one you mention but you cannot open closed records unless you send them a death certificate!
Anyway thanks, I will keep looking at it all!!

Anyone born in 1930 could still be alive .........

........ I have relatives born in 1926, 1928, 1930 and 1932 who are still very much alive and kicking!

Please be careful as this is NOT a safe site. Anything you post on here can (and often is) on the world wide web within minutes.

Thanks for your info Nyx which I do know about as Frederick Simpson Andrews was my father in law! I have more info on one of the twins which I will try and get in touch with.
Thanks also to SylviainCanada and I might have found one of the twins who might still be alive.

Hi, just to say that the twins are not Paul and Peter Butler! I am now trying to get in touch with Robert Green who also has a tree on here and ive noticed that he has some of the Butler girls on my tree! They are Louisa's sisters, Sarah born 1879, Mary Maude born 1881, Mabel born 1884 and the first child I have with these sisters is Peter born 1869/71. If anyone knows any of these sisters they might be the ones who had the twins that I am looking for but I am finding it difficult to find who they all might have married apart from our Louisa who married Stephen Andrews.

Linda, unless I'm misreading, if the dates your giving for births of Louisa'a sister is correct 1877 to 1884 its unlikely that any of them would be having twins in 1930. ??

Linda

Linda Report 22 Jan 2018 18:56

Yes I have realised that I should have said they would be the twins grandparents!

Linda

Linda Report 28 Mar 2018 17:36

Hi everyone, just back and able to do some more family history! I still think the twins are something to do with Butler family as the ladies do look like each other in the photos I have. I need to know who married Louisa Butlers sisters and then the children they have and one of those sisters could be the twins grandparents! Their brother Peter was only a half brother and his dads surname was Curran so again he could be the twins grandfather. I have had a bit of a look but still cannot find the twins who might have been born around 1930ish and they could have been born in the Liverpool, Lancashire, Cheshire or Durham areas! :-)

Start by looking on freebmd for the marriages of her sisters - then follow through on the same site for offspring.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 28 Mar 2018 18:09

you can also use lancs opc for Parish records, they do have a few as late as 1930, or lancs bmd from July 1 1837

http://www.lan-opc.org.uk/Search/indexp.html

http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk/

and of course the new GRO Index which has added mmn to birth registrations from July 1 1837 to about 1919 .............. the absence of mmn indicates the child was illegitimate (ie mother's surname same as child's). You have to registe to use the site or to order certificates, but it is free

https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/

There is also cheshire bmd

http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk/

Linda

Linda Report 28 Mar 2018 18:36

Hi, Yes I have looked at that but its difficult because you do not know when, where or who they marry and ones like Sarah Butler who I looked up there are lots of that name! I cannot find who her mum and dad are unless I buy lots of different certificates or am I wrong? Actually I have just found a marriage for a Sarah to a Laurence Curran! which is the surname of Sarahs mums first marriage so will look into that!

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 28 Mar 2018 19:40

If the marriage occurs before the first 2 months in 1911, then you can check on one or more censuses after the marriage to see if the information given matches the person you are looking for.

Look on censuses for the children with parents.

If they were born in Lancashire, check that Lancs opc site to see if there is a baptism, then use the same site and freebmd to identify the parent's marriag

If you do not have a sub to ancestry or findmypast, ask on here if anyone can find a baptism, or marriage ........... both site carry parish records for areas, coverage might be spotty.
