If anyone has nothing better to do......

I have a lovely photo.

On the back of the photo it reads......

____________

Taken about 1914

Mrs K Watton nee Parker

Living at 81 High Street, Bitterne (Southampton)

____________

I would say this lady looks to be in her late 20s...early 30s?? (I could be wrong)

I have taken into consideration that the "K" might be the initial for a shortened version of a name........As in Kate.....Kathleen/Kathryn/Cathleen etc, but not having any luck finding a suitable marriage.

There is a Frederick Watton on the 1911 census with a wife Kate......but her maiden surname was Ellen.

As i said, if anyone has nothing better to do.....any help would be appreciated as i would love to pass on this photo to anyone connected to her family.

Thank you......Prickles. :-)

The fact that she's Mrs. K. Watton suggests to me that her husband's first name was K.

Just going back to the births posted by Shirley- both Zena and Ernest are registered with surname Trent Watton (I suspect that the T in Daisy's name is also for Trent).

Hi Shirley, sorry to bother you but perhaps you would be kind enough to pass this on to PrickyH as I don't have her in my contacts,

The National Roll of the Great War has an R E T Watton driver in the RFA listed who in 1914 lived at 81 High St Bitterne, the address for Mrs K Watton, He was invalided home and discharged 1918

Thanks very much :-) I really think I will have to rejoin lol,

Take care
Rose xx
