Hi I was just wondering if anyway on here had any information on my grandfather Joesph Baird. The only information told to me is that he was born in Newcastle England around 1911 and moved Barry South Wales to marry an Alice Fusell.

I don't understand why in 1939 she was listed as Alice M. Baird (Chapman)? Wasn't she still married to Frank Chapman and didn't marry Joseph Baird until 1942?

Margaret- the 1939 register was regularly updated up until 1990 to reflect name changes.

She was still with Frank in 1939, but it shows that her surname later changed to Baird.

i wonder if he was american, lots of joseph a bairds on family search ???

I've sent a message to Tracey to let her know how to get back to the thread, and to see if she knows when Joseph died.

Thank you everyone for your replies. From what I was told Joseph died in the late nineteen fifties. This information on this page has been a great help in finding more out so thank you all.

The Joseph Baird b Middlesbro.1911 died Middlesbro 1957.
There is also a marriage Middlesbro 1950 to a Marion Bunney.
