Trying to find the parents of Thomas Moore born in Sunderland in 1872. His father was Joseph D Moore and he was a widower on the 1901 census.

Hi yes I have looked from 1881 onwards but no joy. I did find a Joseph Dobson Moore marriage to Sarah Jane Cooper but have got no further.Thanks.

Say you don't know the GRO reference number, go to next page of form and complete DOB section (hoping the DOB on 1939 register is correct)

or just put 01/01/1872 as suggested and complete Father's name as Joseph, don't use the other initial

and place of birth as Sunderland - keep it all as simple as possible

Certificate should give Father's name and occupation and Mother's name with maiden surname.
