I had relatives emigrate to Australia in 1927, Winifred Nellie Howden and her son Bruce C Howden, wondered what happened to Bruce, I have winifred's death

Would it be worth contactitng http://www.slv.vic.gov.au/ask-librarian the Ask A Librarian service in Victoria.
If you gave them the last known address & year he appeared on the ER, they might be able to trace him forward.

Fawkner Memorial Park might tell you who arranged his wife's cremation, although not their contact details. If it was Bruce, at least you'd know he was alive in 2008.

This looks like an announcement about Florence in the Ryerson Index - basic details relating to deaths culled from newspapers.

But you do need ancestry.co.uk or .com worldwide, and that is what many of us have ......... or we have findmypast worldwide
