EGB my thanks for that Black and Tans link too. My grandfather was one of the demobilized officers (a battlefield commission in WWI) who was in Ireland in some capacity, whether Black & Tans or a constabulary I am not yet sure, and my grandmother said only that he would dress in black and go out at night and tell her not to ask questions. That background info was very interesting. |
