Well tonight has been quite remarkable. Within 5 hours Pamela has been found and sadly we have learnt that she only passed away in October 2015. I knew that there were some wonderful members on this site who are always so knowledgeable, kind and generous with their time and efforts. Thank you all so much but special thanks go to Rambling Rose and Kay who have been slogging away behind the scenes and may have discovered some living siblings for my friends dad. I have passed all the information onto my friend who is quite overwhelmed and has gone from excitement to sadness and tears all in one evening, but at least now they know the truth of their family circumstances and are not living in the dark anymore. We are both truly grateful to all those who have helped us in this search. You are all Genes Reunited stars! Bless you xxx

I have now seen her marriage in Croydon in 1978 which is recorded in her previous married name and also in the name of Smith, so I think we have her. However I cannot find a death for her before 2007. Hopefully she may still be alive or sadly may have passed since 2007. It would be amazing if she is still alive and we could reunite Mother and son.

The father was Trevor C G Smith who married Peta C Tober in Winchester in 1973. She was the Step-Mother, now deceased. Also I am so sorry, the son was born in May 1954 not in 1955. Thank you for the help which has pointed this error out in the OP x

Rambling Report 2 Jan 2016 21:21

There is a possible marriage for Pamela G in the name of the marriage I have PMd, in Croydon 1978.

Rambling Report 2 Jan 2016 21:12

PM not opened yet, but i am 99% sure the marriage is correct...it matches with the sister's birth...the son is not born the year given in the OP.

Kay???? Report 2 Jan 2016 21:02

2 1930 births both Croydon,,,and 25ish in 1955.

If little is known and relying on family tales which may not be 100% the truth.

Have you checked to see who else was at the home address from the 1955 birth certificate.?

Rambling

Rambling Report 2 Jan 2016 20:45

Possible marriage for 'a' Pamela sent by PM just to check, if it is correct it might give age and her father's name to see if there is any other family...by no means sure but as it was mistranscribed it is 'possible'.

Davis was the former name,,,,,,,,,Heywood could have been a step name from a mothers marriage.?

Also she may have changed her first names round to be more fashionable back then.?I know my own aunt did.

There's a Pamela G Davis marrying in the 1960s see freebmd, it might be worth looking into on the grounds it is in Essex?

Rambling Report 2 Jan 2016 19:46

Re the Pamela Heywood born 1924, it might be worth your looking at the 1939 register on FMP which gives a Pamela Heywood living with Ada Davies in Warwickshire... it might help eliminate that one if nothing else.

Luckylainey

Luckylainey Report 2 Jan 2016 19:15

We did find a Pemela Heywood, born in Hampstead in June 1924. Mother's maiden name was Davies. There is no way of confirming if this is his Mother's birth but it is the only record we can find that comes close.
