yes, we all found the marriage record in 1872 ............. but the fact remains that Elizabeth Costello does not appear before that.

One of the tree owners ddi seem to suggest that her name might really be Elizabeth Clarke.

I think you have to buy that marriage certificate from GRO in order to find out what she says about her father. She MIGHT have been a widow

It will cost you £9.25, post and packing included.


There is no other way that you can see the details as i t does not seem that those registers have been digitised.

Yes Margaret Hall nee Scott died in 1871, it is probable that I will have to go through the whole process on the Elizabeth's Clarke, Costello or Costille.

does that mean you don't have the Hall+Costello marriage certificate?

yes, that seems rather necessary ... it would say whether she had been previously married herself, and give her father's name if she stated it
