Afternoon Everyone :-)
Eliza Chamberlain married John Austin 1832, Aston Juxta, Birmingham, they have three children: Hannah 1837-1840, Eliza 1839, and james 1835 , John Austin dies shortly after 1839 and his wife Eliza go`s onto marry William Hackett (I have this marriage certificate) in 1842, Birmingham,...Now heres the trouble .I just cannot find a death for John Austin :-S ...I ordered a death certificate, which appeared correct 3rd Q 1840, Birmingham, and its not him :-S :-( :-\
Eliza does state that she is a Widow on her marriage to William

The 1841 death above is not your man. The burial record has the name 'Aston'

Have you got the family on the 1841 census?

Eliza Austins their daughter baptised 8/7/1839 of Potters street by John Austins a Blacksmith and Eliza.

Eliza married William J/F/M 1841 V18 P 485

Hannah Austin buried 12/7/1840 by parents John and Eliza of Potters Street.

So did he died between July 1839 - Dec1840.

What is a play eyelid maker? I'm sure the first letter is an S not a P.

Yes and thank you all the above is correct....One more thing..ive not been able to find the baptism for Elizabeth 1833 Austins (hastings) ...could a fresh pair of eyes take a look for me...Many thanks x

Perhaps the enumerator wasn't from Birmingham and heard Austin as Husting?

I think the occupations of Elizabeth and Eliza on the 1851 is Stay xxxxx maker. Eyelets would be needed on the stays for the laces to go through - is that what they made?
