Trying to determine arrival in Australia, and by what ship, of Joanna ( aka Johanna) Jane Pearse.. born Celland, Lezant 21 Dec 1827, baptized 7/11/1828, registered in Lezant, daughter of Geddie Pearse ( died 10/4/1832 ) and Mary, nee Lane ( died 28/4/1832 Cornwall).
Joanna emigrated to Australia circa 1836 / 37 ( from her death record.. 68 years in New South Wales) , and married Samuel Bray in 1844 ( Hill End, Bathurst NSW ). She died 31/12/1904 at Bathurst NSW.
Have not been able to find any record of her arrival.. She may have been in the company of her half brother, 1812 Thomas, who also “appears” to have arrived circa 1836 ( Thomas a son of Geddie & his first wife Grace Sargent ) married Mary Bray, nee Lane, registered at Bodmin 31/7/1836.. perhaps just weeks before emigrating... Appreciate any advices

Sorry Mike.. your details, time line, not the Joanna Pearse of this query. The time line for "My"Joanna, daughter of Geddie & Mary Pearse, is... born 21 Dec1827, baptized in 1828.. both her parents died in April 1832 ( the 10th & the 28th ).. she emigrated, we think, circa 1836/37, presumably in the company of an older relative, possibly her half brother Thomas ( born 1812 ).

From the NSW BMD page

Marriage

BRAY SAMUEL
PEARSE JOANNA J

Are you sure about the death in 1904?
The Johanna Bray who died in 1904 showing up on the NSW page had parents Timothy and Ellen.

701/1904
BRAY JOHANNA
Father's name TIMOTHY
Mother's name ELLEN
District BEGA

If they aren't her parents, could they be the people she went to Australia with?

Hi there all.. malyon..Joanna wasn't 68 when she died.. she was 68 years in New South Wales ( Aust. death records show time in country - from emigration, marriage, parents, spouse, age at time of marriage etc if such are known by the informant.. so not always accurate ).. her age was recorded as 77, in accord then, with her 1827 birth.
BeverleyW.. Chris Ho..what you have found is a coincidence of names, quite interesting & I'll look at it however "my" Joanna's passing was on 31/12/1904, in Bathurst NSW, and over 300 miles from Bega though, Chris Ho, re the last two newspaper family notices, these being my Joanna.. I hadn't seen the first, thanks a nice addition to my notes.
Alviegal.. indeed, not my Thomas and not in my wider Pearse tree either. Thanks for that detail.
Regards all.

You could try the 'National LIibrary of Aus' (Canberra) -it has an 'Ask a Librarian' service - they will check their many records -including electoral rolls (past & present) (from 1900's) and newspaper death notices (if given approx. dates)

Try searching Trove.nla.gov.au and go to the newspaper records which will usually include lists of ships arriving and passengers names.
