I would think these are likely to be the births (twins usually have the same page number or consecutive page numbers - if one is at the bottom of the page and the other is the first name on the next page):-

First name(s) ELIZABETH
Last name JONES
Birth year 1900
Birth quarter 3
Registration month -
Mother's last name -
District LIVERPOOL
County Lancashire
Country England
Volume 8B
Page 55

and:-

First name(s) GEORGE
Last name JONES
Birth year 1900
Birth quarter 3
Registration month -
Mother's last name -
District LIVERPOOL
County Lancashire
Country England
Volume 8B

Hi Jan,

No that's not my tree, do you have to register with Ancestry to be able to view it?

Many thanks for the information, I haven't checked other trees yet as I only found out recently that they were twins. I hadn't been aware of Elizabeth's existence, only George. I'm impressed that you found that information so quickly and took the time to let me know. Thank you :-)

Would you mind explaining the reference numbers to me? i.e. FHL & Reference ID? what do they refer to? Sorry to bombard you with questions but fairly new at this.

Many thanks
Elaine

I think there is a tree on Ancestry with them on, is that yours?

Hi Elaine.

Have you tried checking other peoples' trees to see if they share any of these relatives? Use search box above right.

This must be them. Sometimes you can use birth date to find a death online, providing this occurred 1970-2007

Name: George Jones
Birth Date: 7 Aug 1900
Baptism Date: 2 Sep 1900
Baptism Place: St. Stephen's, Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Father: Joseph Jones
Mother: Ellen Jones
FHL Film Number: 1656677
Reference ID: item 4 p 256 rn 2045

Name: Elizabeth Jones
Birth Date: 7 Aug 1900
Baptism Date: 2 Sep 1900
Baptism Place: St. Stephen's, Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Father: Joseph Jones
Mother: Ellen Jones
FHL Film Number: 1656677
Reference ID: item 4 p 256 rn 2044

The only likely-looking one I can find for George is this (informants often get YOB wrong, but not usually birth date). However, George Jones is a very common name so a really long shot:

Name: George Jones
Birth Date: 7 Aug 1901
Date of Registration: Dec 1978
Age at Death: 77
Registration district: Merthyr Tydfil
Inferred County: Mid-Glamorgan
Volume: 27

Hi All,
The twins were admitted to Holy Trinity Industrial Schools in 1911 after the death of their parents Joseph Jones died 1910 and Ellen Jones died 1909.The girls school was at 13 Nile Street, Liverpool and the boys 73/77 Grafton Street, Liverpool. They are my maternal grandmothers sister and brother. Does anyone know how I find out what happened to them after they were admitted?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
Ellie
