One thing I don't get is why on the births is her name Ford,if she was born Florence Christine O'neil well after her mum and dad married.

Have managed to find 9 siblings of my grandad not sure if they are all correct
3 born in same year 1914 and two born in same year 1917

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 25 Aug 2015 18:04

There is only one birth in 1914 and only one in 1917 where the mother's maiden name is the same as given on Edward R. Jones's birth, so not three and two.

I, too, don't understand why you think his mother is Florence O'Neil as the mother's maiden name on the birth record is Ford.

You should buy the birth certificate to be certain of his parents names.

Cracked it
The Jones family were at 14,Thorncroft Street 1920 until at least1938/9
that is were Edward was, also there in 1925 Bernard William O'Neill.
1929 also three other O'Neill's

marriage 8/2/1908 Florence O'Neill 27 widow dad Henry FORD
married John Jones father George Jones.

1911 14,Meadow Place south Lambeth
John Jones 1874 London a Carter
Florence 1879 London married 3 years
Alice D O'Neill 1901
Florence e O'Neill 1902
Bernard William O'Neill 1903 (2/1/1903-1977)
Thomas O'Neill 1905.

Florence Ford married O/N/D 1898 Lambeth 1d 1016 to Bernard O'Neill

1901 Lambeth
Bernard Oneal 30 Lambeth should say O'Neill
Florrie 22
Alice D 9months (Alice Dorothy O'Neill July 1900).

Bernard O'Neill 1871-J/F/M 1906 Lambeth 1d 168

So not Florence Christine !!

So Florence was born a ford then married an o'neil (which is what my dad said) then
Married a john jones. So my grandad had half siblings. Am I correct as
It's all getting a bit confusing :-S. My dad said there were about 9 children altogether.
He mentioned a frank,Bernard and a Florence as siblings names he could
Remember x

So we have picked up some right births and one electoral roll 1939 with the right family .

Goes to show how coincidence with same name can go off track

Well done Mary ,you cracked it

Guess getting a birth cert is still the best way to start for parents names

Evelyn

Evelyn Report 26 Aug 2015 08:30

Yes well done Mary! So the question now is how do we find out all my grandads half
And full siblings. We have a few. But there is meant to

Really appreciate all your help. That's strange. Would be a small world
If it was the same one! I want to go and visit it now and see the house
They lived in. Not sure my search will go much further on the side
Of Jones as John Jones is a very common name! Needle haystack
Comes to mind. Patricia's side was easy as her mum is a Boynton so unusual
Name. Managed to go back quite a way xx

Hi guys. I know you helped me before but I can't seem to find any military records for my grandad Edward reginold Jones although I have pics of him in uniform which I believe is Royal Marines. Very strange nothing is coming up

Evelyn - thats because the Military records after 1920 are still with the MOD. You have to apply for them, and send £30 to cover the cost. There may be a considerable wait before you are sent copies, at least several months.
