Find Ancestors

Hello,

I am trying to find details of a John Rampling. According to his army discharge papers he was born in the parish of Little Bealings in or near the town of Woodbridge in Suffolk. He joined the army on 5th March 1838 and his age at the time, nineteen years and four months, would mean that he was born in 1818, however the record transcription indicates that he was born in 1819. He originally enlisted in the 24th Regiment of Foot and later, on 1st April 1848, transferred to the 17th Regiment of Foot. He was discharged from the army on 30th September 1859 in Limerick in Ireland and he indicated at the time that he intended to reside in Ireland.

I would be very grateful for any further information on this gentleman.
