thank you for the source, figured a few may have died - 11 children in total. Still a mystery about where Mary hart (nMcquarry) was at the time of the 1911 census, doesn't help that her mother in law has the same name - mary jane hart.

Not stupid at all...a Sponsor/"Godparent" depends on which term the Priest used.

There is a large gap in the Church Reg.which is why I could not look at the years after Sara 1908) and before Joannes (1918)

Michelle Jane

Michelle Jane Report 1 Aug 2015 19:49

probably a stupid question but what is a sponsor?

please if you can could you check the birth records for George hart, (c1907), Elizabeth (c1912), Sara Ellen 1908, Joseph 1912. These should also be Mary's children. I think the Mary Jane Hart on the 1911 census is her mother in law - if living in north james henry street. Same name...

Thank you so so much Ann, I really appreciate all your work. Do you have any ideas on how I can locate Mary Mcquarry on the census of 1911? wonder what happened to her. I know she had other children but wondered whether she returned to Ireland... its very addictive researching the family tree x
