Richard Markham son of Henry & Elizabeth Born 1851 (birth or baptism not found )
1861 Census he is with family at Canal Terrace,Camberwell age 8.
1870 Enlists with Surrey Militia then transfers to 40th Reg of Foot,
The Lancashire Regiment, age 19, a private, occ groom.
1872 July, Discharged from reg on health grounds,Heart Disease,medical officers notes state "his disability will affect his ability to support himself"
Discharge took place at Dublin,Ireland. his age 20 & 7/12ths years, home address
Canal Bank,Camberwell. After 1872 I have no sight of him, as he is ill I would expect him to be back near his family.?????
