I have a copy of marriage (1895) information but it shows no father's names listed for the husband. If I ordered a marriage certificate would it have more information, or just what I have now from the church record?

Yes safc. I was trying to find the groom's father's name, his mother seems to be Allanson surname. Thank you.
By the way, did you see the address 15 Henry Street was the same where Margaret lived in 1891 census with her uncle?
So, back to my original question, do you know if the marriage certificate would have any more info than this, or am I out of luck!
Perhaps I should try for the birth certificate instead.

Re the birth, I am not 100% sure if that is the same Percival Day because I have no other documentation with the middle name of Benson in it.

Yes that looks to be him. I was just starting to look that marriage up, you are a genius and so quick! I am really a novice at all this but plod through. So now I have proof of the Benson middle name. And yes, all the family situations were at St Cuthbert's, Lytham. Thank you so much.

Hmm, I am speed reading here! Am I right in understanding Emily was Emily Day. But it has Percival's father was Richard Benson Day - both surnames Day? Or is it possible the father was just Richard Benson?

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 9 Jun 2015 13:19

Emily was single when she married Roger Allanson so evidently Percival was illegitimate:
