Thanks Jude. I came to same conclusion for William's death, and so it may be only Amelia in 1901, but must admit the many Ecclesiastical Districts etc. are confusing.

I have just downloaded a load of Charles Taylor b.c 1892 census reports in the hope of finding them in 1901, as it is certain Charles and Fred survived through 1911.

None seemed to hit the spot except this, which throws more spanners in the works.

Would anyone like to offer opinions? Although ALL the information does not fit, it seems a rather strange coincidence about the names, although I assumed Elsie had died. Common names at the time too.

baptisms again as this ...
Charles Thomas Taylor,
29.6.1894 at Bristol, St. James
parents : William Hook Taylor and Amelia Kate
Elsie Taylor
29.6.1894 at Bristol, St. James
parents : William Hook Taylor and Amelia Kate
Frederick William Taylor
19.8.1898 at Bristol, St. Barnabas
birth date given : 28.11.1878 !!???
parents : William Hook Taylor and Emilia Kate
George Edward Taylor
11.7.1900 at Bristol, St. Paul, Portman Square.
parents: WALTER Hooke Taylor and Amelia Kate BUTLER

Amelia was called Kate at home age 1 and 11.

Census 1901 this ...
4 Chessel street, Ecc.D Ashton Gate, St. Francis, Ward Bedminster ...
William Taylor Head 35, Colliery Banksman ?above, born Yeovil
Kate Taylor wife 33 Easton, Bristol
Charles son 11 Bristol, Som
William son 8 Bristol, Som
Elsie daut 5 Bristol, Som

I was only searching Glocs though, and no George Edward,... and cant see a death that suits, either under George or Edward.

But it is almost sure that He . William/Walter . Died in 1900 and that Elsie died in 1898...though only way to be sure is to buy death Certs.

I have received [at long last] the wedding certificate for Amelia Kate Butler Robbins and Walter Hooke Taylor.
His father was rightly,, George deceased.. Miller.. so we have the right family earlier as you have posted on census for Walter or William Hooke Taylor, mother Emma.

Walter's occupation is Draper's Porter. I'm not surprised as this is the same occupation as Amelia's brother Frederick William Robbins. Perhaps that is how they met. Walter gives his exact age at the marriage, and Amelia has just turned 21 in the February. Therefore both accurately know their age.

The marriage date is 28th March 1891. 1891 Census night 5th April... one week later. So where are they in 1891 census records? I've tried everything I can think of, wildcards and some of the free sites. FreeCEN does Bristol 1891 but no result.

The address is 4 Wells Street, Bristol, which I google mapped. It is still there today, and is in the Ashton Gate area, near Grenville Smyth Park.

By the way they both gave the same address for Residence at time of Marriage. The pregnancy for Charles came later.

Any suggestions to try to track down this missing couple?? Missing pages perhaps?

:-S Phew! Someone must have a better thinking head than myself.....

I still cannot crack this one .. William Hooke Taylor and Amelia in 1891...aka Walter.
However, I think they must be in Bristol somewhere.

Does anyone know please how to search by address only for Wells Street, Bedminster (?) to see who is living in the street? Perhaps it was hard to read for transcribers.
Can it be done on Genes?

Thank you so much safc, I was beginning to give up

I don't know how to do that search..
those names are NOT familiar, ... So between 28th March when that address is given at the marriage, and one week later, census night, they had moved.

However, Harriett Greewood or might it be Greenwood, was born in Hereford.
Perhaps she is sister to Thomas Maurice/Morris Biddle, husband of Eva Jane, Amelia's sister.
?????
Many thanks

Gillikins Report 18 Sep 2015 11:00

Sorry .. I think that is wrong lead about Harriet..
Marriages Dec 1890 (>99%)
Greenwood Frederick Bristol 6a 163
Jones Harriet Bristol 6a 163
Her birth most likely Harriet Jones 1866 dec ? Hereford

One more request on this Walter Hooke Taylor and wife Amelia Kate Butler Taylor who married one week before the 1891 census, at the Registry Office Bristol.

Amelia's sister lives then as Eva Biddle, married to Thomas M Biddle at 4 Mission (Place? hard to read) ... Bristol RG12/1965. At the top of the page reads "Upper Wells Street continued.

As the marriage cert says they resided at 4 Wells Street, I wonder if there was a mistake and should be admitted Upper Wells Street, Bristol.

Someone already kindly checked 4 Wells Street for me, they are not there.

Can anyone seek by address Upper Wells Street, BRISTOL, 1891, please?? Perhaps there is a chance they were in the next street,... this schedule for Eva is a bit pale.

Civil parish St. Augustine,
Municipal Ward St. Augustine,
Parliamentary borough Bristol West
Ecc D St. Augustine

THANKS
