I've got stuck and need to know who Robert White's parents are. He was born in Hilton, Dorset abt. 1804 and died in Bridport 1870. Married to Charlotte Gill. Is he either the son of:

Thomas White (1761 - 1844) and Elizabeth Hounsel (1771 - 1846) both born somewhere in Dorset and both die in Bridport, Dorset.

or Joseph White (1769 - 1837) from Hilton, Dorset and Penelope Vacher (1762 - 1822) Milton Abbas, Dorset.

Really grateful for any help as I can't seem to clarify which record is right.

Any clues in the naming of Robert's children?

I have to say that both couples you've named seem rather old for the time..............unless you know that Robert had a number of older siblings

When did those couples marry?
