His fathers occupation was grocer, any sign of him in earlier census with his father?
Yes I think they did spell his name wrong in the marriage record.. Normally Francis with an E is the female way off spelling it. But defiantly on marriage cert it is spelt with an I .

The 1911 census definitely reads 29.

I've just noticed on marriage cert in 1915 he is also aged 29, could the census have the age wrong?
