Hi All,

I have a mystery to solve I'm looking for a Charlotte Tureman born 1831 Calverton Nottingham she married Henry Wells Bramley on 8 Aug 1847 Calverton no father's name on marriage (will check again next time I'm in the Library) and cannot find a christening either. The only christening for a Charlotte in Calverton is a Charlotte Watts Lee in 1832 daughter of Sarah Watts singlewoman so was wondering if some one could find her on 1841 census to see who she was with please.

Thank you Jan that's a possible but 1861 census and her death in 1869 puts her birth abt 1831.

So Not your Charlotte who was married by 1851

Ideally you need her marriage cert to confirm father's name.
Her age might have been rounded up, common in 1841 census.

Yes I was wondering that too found it on the Freereg site, going to rule her out now.

I thought I had a copy of the marriage but cannot find it now but if she was born 1831 she would have been abt 16 yrs of age when marriage took place also her burial in 1869 has her age at 38yrs so that makes it 1831 too.
So will get her marriage again when I'm in the library

ages on the 1841 Census were supposed to be rounded down to the nearest 5 for all persons over the age of 15

If the census was taken before her birth date, she would have been rounded down to a birth in 1826 .............. so that 1841 is a definite possibility


On the other hand .............. she was quite old enough to have been out at work, as a domestic servant for example.

When I use age 1828 +/- 5, this record shows on ancestry
