1901 census, all is well they are living in Treharris Glamorgan with the 2 eldest children.

1911 census Samuel Barnes is living Merthyr Tydfil with "housekeeper" Harriet Weale, 4 Barnes children and the house keeper's child Emlyn Wearle. (Harriet's life is "interesting"). Samuel states 6 children born, 1 died, 4 living (great maths)

There is a further Barnes child, Ivy c1908 Treharris living with Emily's brother George Rockey

Stanley Barnes born 1909 Plymouth, Devon is living with Emily's parents.

Please can anyone find Emily on the 1911?

There is another birth for an Emily Rockey in 1878, so may be her as opposed to your Emily

I did find this but I don't really think it is the right one as she is travelling with an infant daughter !!

Why would she take the daughter with her, surely she would have left her behind with all the other children?

Travelling with an infant (under 1) - Edna.

There is no other info on the ship's manifest and there is nothing on Ellis Island site.

That passenger list gives Emily's birth place as Blackburn :-(

Thank you all for your help.There were 2 Emily Rockey's living in the same area but with different places of birth so I think Emily Hill is the other one.

I contacted John Wyre about a week ago as Emily is closely related to his wife however, he's not been on Ancestry for over a month.

Looks like I'm going to have to wait until the 1921 if it's ever transcribed.

Yes I found the census...but Stan is the child of Annie and Samuel Barnes - so was Emily known as Annie?

It's debatable Jude.

Emily could have left Samuel while pregnant with Stan, moved to Plymouth then stayed there long enough for the christening

or

Emily left earlier and Stan isn't Samuel's

In either scenario I'm certain Samuel will be named on the birth cert

Very odd that Stan was christened 1909 England while the older children were christened 1910 Wales, in fact at the same church and year as the house keeper's child!

Yes I am sure this IS Stanley...and Thomas and Susan/Susannah do not appear to have a daughter Annie...and Emily DID marry Samuel John Barnes.

Emily Barns 31 Lodger married 13 year (fits) 6 children (Fits) but 6 alive and it says she was born Plymouth!!

I thought I would post anyway as I couldn't find this Emily in 1901.

I have been trying to find out which were the 2 siblings of Emily which died before the 1911 census,her parents states 9 born 2 died.
