Find Ancestors

Trying to find connections to colin james Quinn born in 1955 in paignton Devon. Mothers maiden name think was Smith. He had connections to Leeds and worked as a motor mechanic at one time. Anyone out there who can help track down clues or family connections would be most welcome.

No, no other thread. I a m trying to help someone find someone. Done a little bit of research. Waiting for a certificate to come back. Try and look on here under advanced search but page to busy to load.

Thanks for replies. Yes..have seen he is in someone's tree..I messaged them but have had no reply as yet. We at e waiting f or birth certificate for more clues. I have been unable to find a marriage for a Quinn and Smith that could be a possible, for his parents. . It is possible he worked on fairs so he could be from a travelling family.
I have been trying for weeks to search the community board...it is continually loading.

Think his brother arthur may have married Alice munden or Alice nimmo. But in Wandsworth...at sixteen. ? :-S

Checked the arthur t Quinn ..Don't think it's the same family although they both born in Devon with mothers maiden name Smith. :-(

all other siblings named by original poster born in Birmingham, but no Colin birth in Birmingham so seems possibly to be the same person, as mentioned there

Got the birth certificates back for colin Quinn. . Dad is named james Quinn. Mother is audrey miriam Smith which makes me more or less certain that jeanette Audrey Quinn is sister of colin . Jeanette born in Birmingham as we're the other sibling s I think ...so it appears that colin may have been the only sibling born in Devon. The certificate helps but as I am unable to find a marriage between audrey miriam Smith and a james Quinn...I am struggling to get any further at the moment.

Thanks for that. Think I was looking for an earlier marriage ..or because colin was born in Devon...in 1955 but think all or most of other sibling were born in Birmingham ...was wondering why the Devon connection. James Quinn was a hotel worker at time of his birth. Maybe they got temporary holiday jobs?

Just rechecked freebmd.....no sign of a Smith wedding in the four quarter only an Edward Smith in the previous quarter. How strange. So thanks for that..would never have found it. :-) :-S
