Good spot Shirley- so Nigel may have names mixed up and the Barbara Rae/ Thomas Winn marriage 1905 could be correct. |

hi Just for ref of helpers in case they 'overlap' info on the other thread ( it's only indirectly connected so not duplicating) which just has mention of the Winn marriage to Dowding ( 1932) |

I am looking in to my family name winn.my dad george william winn ( my dad was named after his uncle )has a brother james howey winn who both are still alive.my grandfather James winn who died 1983 I think, chester le street.he was born waldrigde county durham,I'm sure his dad was thomas winn who was married to barbara howey ??? I think thomas winn dad was also callled thomas and his dad james. My grandfather james has one brother still alive called lesley winn and he mention a book of the winn family is around to find and he is sure way in the past the winn name was a shorter version of the original spelling. |
