HI DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO ON THE ABOVE NAMED WHO WERE JOCKEYS AND LIVED IN KILDARE, THEY WERE MY GREAT GRANDFATHER, GREAT UNCLE AND GREAT GREAT GRANDFATHER. I HAVE INFO ON THEIR RACES BUT DON'T KNOW WHO WAS CHARLES FATHER OR MOTHER. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. |

From this link, it seems Charles died in Dublin, 15 May 1887, aged 69. |

Thank you all so much for your help, really appreciate it. Don't think it's the same David Canavan. Mine was born in 1853 and did live in America but he was married to Elizabeth Kelly, b.1859, Kildare,She died in 1918 in Kildare.Charles Canavan was married to Maria Monaghan, don't know when they were born, they were married in 1846 in Kildare. William Canavan was David's brother, born 1854 in Kildare. They were all jockeys.My grandfather, William John Canavan was born in 1881, also a jockey, left Ireland before 1918 and lived in Hertfordshire and Warwickshire with my Gran Rose who he later married.I know David Canavan was resident in America in 1902, he had previously travelled there numerous times for races he was in. |

No, I didn't post anything on this thread. I have been reading it because of my interest in the name Canavan My husband's gt. grandmother was a Canavan but not related as far as I can see. |
