1911 census trace - can anyone help?

Can anyone help me track down Sarah Elizabeth Cunnington on the 1911 census?
She was born 1895 Holbeach Hurn Lincolnshire, she is on the 1901 census as the daughter of John & Kate Cunnington, as also is Edith Catherine born 1899. However, I suspected that both girls might actually be their grandaughters as there is a gap of 9 years between Sarah Elizabeth & the previous child, in addition John & Kate already had daughters named Sarah (Jane) & Elizabeth, both still living at that time. The 1901 cenus shows daughter Mary Ann (full name Eliza Mary Ann) also living with John & Kate. I have tracked down Edith Catherine in 1911 with the surname Fensom, Eliiza Mary Ann married James William Fensom later in 1901. As a 16 year old Sarah Elizabeth may well have been a live in servant by 1911. I have also searched with surname Fensom on the basis that she may have been known by that name. I have come up blank on both surnames.

PricklyHolly I think I have been a bit blinkered in not spotting the possible connection to Elizabeth Cliff. Thanks for pointing me in what I think might be the right direction. I will have to work through this to check that it all hangs together. I think that the 1901 cenus might have been an attempt to mask illegitimate granddaughters, rather than a transcription error.

I wonder if Sarah Elizabeth and Edith Catherine are sisters.

I did think that Edith Catherine birth reg Dec qtr 1899 might be the daughter of Lizzie, 1901 census,(Birth reg Dec 1884 Cunnington Elizabeth Holbeach 7a 406) as in 1901 she married James William Fensom and James had a sister Edith Catherine Fensom BUT this would mean that Lizzie was only 15 when she gave birth and 16 when she married James Fensom

Lizzie could not have been the mother to Sarah Elizabeth

The name changing between Lizzie, Elizabeth and Eliza Mary Ann are confusing.

Julie

Julie Report 29 Nov 2014 21:26

I now think that Edith is the daughter of Eliza Mary Ann, makes sense that she would be living with her In 1911 but with the surname of her mother's husband. Whereas Sarah Elizabeth is the daughter of Sarah Jane, it would make sense that she would be
called Elizabeth to differentiate her from her mother, & again she has adopted the surname of her mother's husband. It has taken some fresh eyes to draw together information, most of which I already had. It might need birth certs & perhaps access to the baptism registers to support this. However I still need to go through the info again to see if it really does make sense.
