There is also mention in Jane's notice of a stepson, J. P. HOCKING.

So this would seem to have been a son of Sarah's, and stepson of Elijah's.

Possibly this one:
1880 / HOCKING John Phillips / William PHILLIPS / Sarah HOCKING / Daly / 250/304
